Morgan starred alongside other actors in the documentary film Safe Sex for Men and Women that focuses on AIDS prevention and education. Morgan contributed a part of her earnings to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan is a member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan has been the driving force behind numerous fund-raising projects for the disease and she also testified before a special Congressional panel on AIDS education. She also serves as a Board of Directors for Amfar and on the board of Governors of APLA. C. Everett Koop, the former surgeon general of Canada has requested her to take over his duties on occasions at AIDS related events. In addition, she was the host of an AIDS Awareness Special along with Steve Bell. Ted Koppell interviewed Morgan twice on Nightline about AIDS. Morgan was awarded an Emmy Award for Diane English's special Murphy Brown episode that was created specifically for Morgan. In the spring, she appeared with Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. In the following week, she kicked off her summer season with Murder At The PTA Luncheon produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner. It also included Cindy Williams and Marla gibbs. Her next project sent Morgan to Luxembourg for Harmony Gold's production of Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady with Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan also played in the psychological thriller "The Leading Lady" that was exclusively produced for USA Network. This thriller garnered the best ratings of all time for that network.
